Angie Logan, president and CEO of Cameron Health, was honored with Trine University’s
annual Woman of Distinction award during the annual Touchstone and Homecoming Celebration
Dinner on Oct. 2.
The event was held in the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Inc. Athletic and Recreation
Center.
In accepting the award, Logan said the work she has done has always been a team effort.
“I am so grateful for our partnership with Trine University. Trine's leadership is
visionary and genuinely committed to the spirit of community,” she said.
She said that, as a nurse, Cameron’s partnership with the university on Trine’s Associate
of Science in Nursing program and the Joyce and Al Gutstein Education and Innovation
Center have held special meaning for her.
“I believe that the impact of these initiatives will be felt for years to come,” she
said.
In presenting the award, Tony Kline, Ph.D., Trine University president, praised Logan
as “an accomplished professional, a champion for quality of life and a valued partner
of Trine University.”
“We thank you, Angie, for everything you do to help keep Steuben County healthy, now
and in the future,” he said.
Angie Logan
After graduating with her nursing degree, Logan started her professional career as
an acute care nurse and nursing supervisor at Lutheran Hospital in 2000. She served
in multiple leadership positions, including nurse manager of the advanced cardiac
therapy unit she helped develop between 2009 and 2012.
Logan received national acclaim in 2013, when she was honored with the Heart Failure
Nurse Maven Award from The Healthcare Accreditation Colloquium.
She became chief nursing officer at Dupont Hospital in 2014. While at Dupont, she
helped the organization achieve a 4-Star Quality Rating from the Centers for Medicare
& Medicaid Services and a “top 100 hospital” designation for consecutive years. In
addition, she assisted with planning, design and renovation of the hospital’s Ambulatory
Surgery Center.
She graduated from Leadership Fort Wayne in 2015.
In 2016, she was named chief nursing officer for Lutheran Hospital. In this role,
she was charged with oversight of more than 1,200 nurses in the 396-bed facility.
During her time at Lutheran Hospital, Logan improved quality and safety ratings and
completed staffing optimization models to meet budget parameters while ensuring a
high level of quality patient care.
She joined Cameron Hospital as vice president of nursing and chief nursing officer
in 2019. In 2021, she was named interim chief executive officer and served in that
role for six months before assuming her current role.
She played a key role in the partnership between Cameron Health and Trine University
that led to the launch of the university’s Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program.
She spearheaded the construction of Cameron’s Joyce and Al Gutstein Education and
Innovation Center, a three-story, 32,000-square-foot facility that provides classrooms,
simulation rooms and laboratory for Trine’s ASN program.
Logan welcomed the first Trine University ASN graduates to the profession when she
provided the keynote address at the university’s Fall Commencement in 2025.
In addition to her work at Cameron, Logan serves the community as a member of the
board for the Steuben County Community Foundation.
Woman of Distinction
Trine University has long recognized women as a rich reservoir of service, innovation,
support and leadership.
The Woman of Distinction Award was inaugurated in 2006 to honor Marjorie Bowstrom,
a Tri-State University Trustee, Zollner Corporation retired Board President and Chief
Executive Officer, and Zollner Foundation Director.
The award recognizes the powerful contributions of women in the areas of philanthropy,
business and education, and is presented annually to a woman judged by the university
to mirror the attributes Bowstrom so admirably represented.
