Thunder Ice Arena

Trine University’s new 46,200-square-foot, 700-seat Thunder Ice Arena is located on U.S. 20/West Maumee Street. The arena will include: an NCAA-compliant ice rink; men’s and women’s varsity, club and visitor’s lockers; weight and training rooms; concessions; a pro shop with wearables, sticks and skates for sale; a VIP lounge and press box. It also will include an area for skate sharpening and rental and be open to the community for programs and open skates.

Thunder Athletics

Trine’s NCAA DIII men’s and women’s hockey teams take to the ice in fall 2017.  The university has been accepted to the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association, a conference of regional institutions. Trine also will launch two men’s hockey teams, to play in the American Collegiate Hockey Association DII and DIII. 


Community Youth and Adult Hockey

The Thunder Ice Arena will be home to adult and youth leagues beginning in October 2017. Note - New registration process.

Learn to Skate USA Classes

Certified skating coaches will take you from the ground to the ice, no matter what your athletic ability. Fundamentals of hockey and other classes are also available. Note - New registration process.
