Athletic and Recreational Facilities

Hershey Hall

At the center of Trine University's athletics is the Hershey Hall athletic facility, named in honor of Gen. Lewis B. Hershey. One of the best small school athletic facilities in the Midwest, Hershey Hall has a main basketball court that seats 4,500, an indoor walking track, two auxiliary gymnasiums, four volleyball courts, racquetball courts, a free-weight room and a fitness center.


The Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Inc. Athletic and Recreation Center is a multipurpose sports complex with an indoor 200-meter track, tennis courts, baseball/softball cages, indoor soccer, lacrosse and more.

MTI Center

The new 3,000-seat athletic and event center with 74,840 square feet will feature three basketball courts, a six-lane bowling alley and a fitness center, which will include machines as well as a free weight area, esports arena, golf pro shop, banquet room, outdoor patio, offices and a training room. It also will include concessions, an alumni suite and the Trine University Athletic Hall of Fame. The new center will host Trine men’s and women’s basketball games and is expected to open in spring 2018. Ryan Tennis Center

Two new courts, seating and a plaza area to allow for tournament officiating were recently added to the Ryan Tennis Center.

Thunder Ice Arena

Trine University’s new 46,200-square-foot, 700-seat ice arena will be located on U.S. 20/West Maumee Street. The arena will include: an NCAA-compliant ice rink; men’s and women’s varsity, club and visitor’s lockers; weight and training rooms; concessions; a pro shop with wearables, sticks and skates for sale; a VIP lounge and press box. It also will include an area for skate sharpening and rental. The new arena also will host club and youth hockey programs for the Steuben County YMCA and local school corporations. Learn more.

Zollner Golf Course

Located on campus, Zollner Golf Course is an 18-hole championship golf course appreciated for its beautifully landscaped, undulating fairways, scenic views and hilly terrain. Learn more.
