Summary
The Department of Mathematics invites applications for a full-time assistant professor position beginning Spring 2026 in person on Trine’s Main Campus in Angola. We are seeking a candidate who is committed to undergraduate instruction -- flexible, creative, and energetic with a strong desire to see students succeed. Candidates with a background in statistics and/or the ability to teach courses in the actuarial science program (also housed in the math department) will be given special consideration. Trine University does not offer tenure, but contracts are renewed annually, and faculty retention is outstanding.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach a broad range of undergraduate courses in mathematics and actuarial science.
- Advise students majoring in math and actuarial science.
- Provide service to the University by serving on committees, advising student groups, and assisting with departmental initiatives, etc.
- Work together with the department chair and faculty on program assessment, course and program development, and student recruitment.
Required Education
The ideal candidate will have expertise in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science and the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in those disciplines. A doctoral degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with master’s degrees will also be considered and are encouraged to apply.
Salary
Rank and salary will be based on qualifications.
