Summary

The position is responsible for the development and implementation of the University’s East Coast States recruitment program. The Assistant Director and Preview Day Coordinator works and contributes through a team-oriented approach in the overall planning and operations of the University’s admissions arena including strategic recruitment planning, application processing, marketing, and policy/communication development; along with the coordination of specific recruitment-related programs. They also coordinate, plan, and execute the admission Preview Days and Storm Saturdays as well as assisting with 8-12th grade group visits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

East Coast Recruitment:

  • This position has the primary responsibility to assume a key territorial recruitment assignment (East Coast States), including prospective student telecounseling, presentations on the University and financial aid, coverage of college fair programs, high school visits, and applicant follow up etc.
  • Responsible for applicant file review, upgrades, major changes etc. related to the overall management within the territory.
  • Systematically collect, analyze, and use data on market, prospects, applicants, admitted students, and enrolled students in order to target resources effectively and constantly improve recruitment efforts within your territory
  • Weekend visit events, overnight travel to college fairs, other coverage as needed.
  • The Assistant Director partners with staff in planning, implementation and evaluation of all programs and efforts, which seek to enroll an academically talented and culturally diverse student body from the East Coast States. 
  • Create an annual marketing plan for East Coast recruitment. Conduct appropriate research on territory to establish/support goals and objectives.
  • Prepares, reviews, and submits reports as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned

Preview Day Coordination:

  • Oversee all administrative, managerial, and performance-based aspects of all Preview Day visitation programs and Storm Saturday programs
  • Work with all areas (ex. Athletics, Food Service, AV, Academics, Facilities, and others) involved in Preview Days to thoroughly coordinate all aspects of the event
  • Assists with the annual marketing direct-mail grid, working closely with the operations staff, admission staff and marketing office in implementing mailings on a strategic, timely and cost-efficient basis.
  • Proactively propose new ideas to improve and enhance the visitor experience
  • Provide insight on new ideas to improve and enhance Preview Days and Storm Saturdays.
  • Responsible for providing a comprehensive marketing plan to recruit new students through the campus visit program, which thoroughly analyzes and assesses Trine’s competitive markets and concludes with the realistic goal projections for event and Storm Saturday attendance.
  • Has responsibility for assisting the Director of Admission in planning, implementation and evaluation of all programs and efforts, which seek to enroll an academically talented and culturally diverse student body.
  • Assist with conducting admission presentations to special high school group visits
  • Team with Senior members of enrollment team along with Individual Visit coordinator to create a “best visit ever” experience
  • Prepares, reviews, and submits reports as necessary.
  • Assist in the training and management of student tour guides and ambassadors
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree required. Preference will be given candidates who have attended an independent, accredited college or university.
