Summary

The Assistant Director of Transfer Admission will engage in all phases of the transfer admission process from recruiting, reviewing admission files, representing Trine University at college fairs and other events and participating in main campus visit days.This individual will assist in developing the transfer program’s strategic plan. This individual must be able to work within the community and beyond to develop new and existing partnerships, and be willing to travel extensively. The Assistant Director of Transfer Admission must be flexible, visionary, creative and energetic and, possess a demonstrated capacity to lead.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize Slate to process and maintain assigned transfer student admission files and transfer evaluations.
  • Maintain communication with all prospective transfer students throughout recruitment cycle.
  • Territory management and travel to community colleges, transfer fairs, and related recruitment programs for assigned geographic area.
  • Meet with students and their families for individual campus visits.
  • Maintains proactive outreach and timely responses with applicants using all available tools.
  • Review transfer applications and make recommendation on admission decision.
  • Attend recruitment events, Visit Days, SOAR, Scholarship Day and assigned Saturday office coverage.
  • Evaluate dual credit, AP exams & college transcripts for an assigned territory for transfer credit.
  • Contribute to communication planning and marketing materials content.
  • Review web site content and email communications to ensure accuracy.
  • Be knowledge on all degree requirements and have the ability to advise students on their options.
  • Reporting and data review.
  • Prepares, reviews, and submits reports as necessary.
  • Stays current in the admissions fields (with emphasis on transfer students) by reading publications and participating in professional organizations and networks associated with transfer students, and admission.
  • Create an annual marketing plan for transfer recruitment. Conduct appropriate research on territory to establish/support goals and objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree required and a master’s degree preferred. Preference will be given candidates who have attended an independent, accredited college or university.
