Summary

The director will play a critical role in the University’s goal to grow the Brooks’ College of Health Professions (BCHP).  This position will be an extension of the business office in assisting with all operational and financial aspects of the school and will work closely with the Dean of BCHP.  The director will also assist with strategic planning and support effective resource management and operations.  This position will also coordinate with the Angola Campus services and contracted vendors for the BCHP building.  All job duties below relate specifically to BCHP unless otherwise noted.  The position will work primarily at our BCHP location in Fort Wayne with occasional trips to Angola when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Monitor the program operating budgets monthly. Meet with program directors when needed to review actual spending vs budget.
  • Assist program directors and the Dean in preparation of the annual budget process
  • Provide spending approvals in accordance with the policy thresholds and account coding for the business office.
  • Monitor the annual salary budget for all BCHP positions, provide input on personnel requests.
  • Conduct procurement efforts to ensure the most effective spending for each program and building operations.
  • Assist with the annual tuition & fees review & determine program pricing.
  • Assist in the creation and review of new program pro formas.
  • Assist the Dean BCHP with new program market analysis. 
  • Assist programs directors with the development of annual program marketing plans for presentation to the Dean of BCHP
  • Serve as a liaison between the human resource department and BCHP programs.
  • Serve as a liaison between the marketing department and BCHP programs to ensure timely completion and execution of marketing plans. 
  • Perform annual program margin analysis and prepare presentation for the CFO, University President, and Dean of BCHP
  • Serves as a liaison for the Angola Campus departments, including admissions, marketing, IT, campus ops, campus safety, and student affairs. Notify departments when needs arise.
  • Oversee 3rd party contracts related to outsourced program and building services.
  • Provide a review of annual contracts related to warranties, equipment, consultants, staffing for the simulation hospital, and third-party use agreements.
  • Execute,coordinate, and track BCHP affiliation agreements.
  • Assist with data management for BCHP specialty accredited programs as applicable
  • Assist with grant application budget planning, management, and proper tracking of expenditures.
  • Assist with the programs annual reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate information for the University’s annual financial statement audit
  • Coordinate information for the University’s 990 tax form
  • Assist CFO with running the University property & liability insurance program, including claims management.
  • Work closely with CFO on various reporting
  • Represent BCHP, when needed, at various meetings on the Angola campus
  • Assist with special projects when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, operations management or related area and three years of related experience. Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.  Master’s degree or CPA License is preferred.
