Summary

The Director will help to develop and lead the efforts to create The Center for Pre-College Outreach and Engagement. The director will partner with communities and youth-serving organizations across our region and beyond to provide K-12 students and families with comprehensive college prep and social development on-campus camps and programs.  

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a robust camp and engagement program that serves K-12 students and families with educational and enrichment on-campus experiences. These will include expansion of LEGO Robotics Camps, STEM with Storm, and launch the Storm STEM Trackers program.
  • Develop strategic plans and meet stated goals and objectives while working to grow and evolve The Center
  • Manage and be able to demonstrate program relevance to youth and their families and eliminate obstacles and barriers to participation
  • Responsible for developing and managing programs, tools, etc. that equip participants with the habits of mind and increased skill sets that would foster the excitement and encourage the intent to pursue a college education
  • Cultivate roles and engagement of collaborative k-12 youth-serving organizational partners
  • Collaborate with Enrollment Management and other departments on campus to meet common objectives of the University.
  • Implement appropriate risk management plans, transportation coordination, and scheduling of all Pre-College Outreach Engagement events
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and training made available through the American Camp Association
  • Oversee the hiring and training of camp mentors
  • Development of policies and procedures as necessary for the Center for Pre-College Outreach and Engagement programs.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree required; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
