Summary
Under the direction of the Vice President for Enrollment Management (VPEM), the Director of Dual Enrollment serves as the administrative leader of Trine University's Dual Enrollment Program. This position is responsible for the strategic planning, growth, administration, compliance, and assessment of all dual enrollment initiatives, including on-campus dual enrollment, high school partnerships, online offerings, homeschool partnerships, and other early college opportunities.
The Director develops and implements strategies to expand access to dual enrollment opportunities while ensuring academic quality, regulatory compliance, and a positive student experience. This position serves as the primary liaison between Trine University and partnering schools, academic departments, faculty liaisons, and community stakeholders.
The Director of Dual Enrollment provides leadership in identifying and cultivating new partnerships, overseeing accreditation and compliance processes, supporting faculty and instructors, and advancing the University's enrollment and academic goals. The successful candidate must possess strong leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills, along with the ability to think strategically and manage multiple priorities. Travel throughout Indiana and surrounding regions is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategic Planning
- Provide leadership and supervision for the Dual Enrollment team.
- Develop, implement, and assess short-term and long-term strategic plans for dual enrollment growth and student success.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase the matriculation of dual enrollment students into Trine University undergraduate programs, including communication plans, enrollment pathways, and transition initiatives
- Establish annual goals, key performance indicators, and assessment measures for dual enrollment programs.
- Collaborate with academic leadership to identify opportunities for new dual enrollment pathways, certificates, and academic partnerships.
Partnership Development and Outreach
- Cultivate, develop, and maintain relationships with high schools, career centers, homeschool organizations, and other educational partners.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand dual enrollment offerings and geographic reach.
- Represent Trine University at school meetings, conferences, professional organizations, and community events.
- Market dual enrollment and early college opportunities to students, parents, counselors, teachers, and school administrators.
Academic Quality and Compliance
- Serve as the institutional lead for NACEP accreditation and applicable State of Indiana dual credit requirements.
- Oversee faculty liaison activities and coordinate regular meetings with faculty liaisons.
- Lead the review and approval process for new dual enrollment instructors in collaboration with academic departments and faculty liaisons.
- Assist with professional development opportunities for dual enrollment instructors.
- Conduct classroom observations and program reviews to evaluate instructional quality, course rigor, student engagement, and compliance with university standards.
- Manage and maintain the Dual Enrollment Student Handbook and Faculty Liaison Handbook.
Operations and Student Support
- Oversee communication and marketing plans for dual enrollment students, families, instructors, and school partners.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to students, parents, instructors, and school personnel.
- Manage processes related to course scheduling, curriculum coordination, conflict resolution, and program operations.
- Oversee dual enrollment course listings, web content, and program information to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Support enrollment operations during peak periods, including student processing, Slate management, registration activities, and payment coordination.
- Assist team members with day-to-day operations as needed to ensure efficient program delivery.
Additional Responsibilities
- Attend school recognition events and present honor cords and awards on behalf of the University.
- Prepare reports and analyses related to program growth, enrollment trends, student success, and partnership effectiveness.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, a Master’s degree in education or a business-related field, and three or more years of successful admission or related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
