Summary

The Director of Business Operations oversees the Office of International Services and is responsible for providing results-oriented leadership and forward-thinking vision for the development and implementation of centralized, comprehensive, strategic, systematic, coordinated, and highly efficient processes for the successful enrollment, assimilation, and academic success of international students including undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking students on main and branch campuses. The Director of Business Operations reports to the Assistant Vice President of International Services.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises International Operations consisting of enrollment operations, orientation operations, and as necessary contracted professional services and temporary/student workers, includes monitoring performance, annual reviews, and hiring of those staff. 
  • Prepares all reports, weekly, monthly annually
  • Maintains relevant comprehensive policy and procedure manual for all operations
  • Annually reviews processes to ensure efficiencies
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining the annual budget of the department
  • Assist in identifying areas to be improved utilizing automation
  • Responsible for a comprehensive knowledge of the SLATE CRM (structures, tables, forms, data integrity and security, flow of data across processes/units, maintain department security/user profiles, etc.).  This includes training and providing technical support for all local and baseline programs and processes, analyzing and solving technical issues, responding to ad hoc information requests, and developing and maintaining written procedures for all processes.
  • Responsible for administrative reporting on enrollment data (sources, applicants, admits, AP, enrolled, etc.), processing production, and other strategic reports. 
  • Serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) responsible for coordinating institutional compliance with federal regulations governing international students
  • Assists international students in maintaining legal immigration status, providing them with information through orientation, visa advising, workshops, and through written communication
  • Develops and oversees processes and workflows for managing student documents, creating records, and processing admissions and advising files.  
  • Perform other tasks, duties, or services consistent with this position as assigned

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a field directly relevant to international education with preference to international education or higher education business administration. Master degree preferred. Demonstrated experience with strategic planning and program development with regards to business operation and/or international education programming. Qualified candidates must meet the federal eligibility requirements for a DSO.
