Summary

The general duties of the Ice Arena Technician II are to maintain the ice, safety of patrons and cleanliness of Thunder Ice Arena.

Essential Duties and Responsiblities

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Operate ice resurfacer in a safe cautious manner
  • Operate ice edger when directed by the Ice Arena Technician
  • Complete resurfacer log after each resurface
  • Complete compressor room log as required by manufacturer
  • Ensure all locker rooms and common areas are picked up swept and mopped as needed between ice cuts
  • Sharpen skates as needed and time allows
  • Ensure bathrooms are stocked and clean
  • Keep the arena programs on schedule by getting user groups on and off the ice in a timely manner
  • All other duties as directed by Ice Arena Manager and Ice Arena Technician.

Qualifications

Willingness and ability to maintain the highest quality ice surface in the industry, including operating ice resurfacer and ice edger. Willingness to maintain the building cleanliness to a high standard utilizing cleaning equipment and chemicals provided including but not limited to, floor scrubber, vacuum and kaivac machine. Ability to perform minor maintenance.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED is required; Vocational-technical training a plus.

The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
