Summary
The Instructional Design Specialist supports the development of high-quality online courses through standards and processes established by TrineOnline. The Instructional Design Specialist works with faculty and staff to develop online courses and provide faculty support in the areas of instructional design and technology. The successful candidate will be a team-oriented professional who is willing to learn and participate in a collaborative setting under the direction of the Director of Instructional Design and Development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with faculty throughout the course development process, ensuring accessibility, inclusivity, and effective pedagogical use of technology.
- Work closely with faculty and staff to design high quality online courses, promoting active learning and student engagement.
- Build collaborative working relationships to design technology-driven learning experiences.
- Successfully complete tasks and projects through professional communication and constructive, yet sensitive feedback.
- Implement educational technology tools assist faculty and staff with online learning projects.
- Update online Master courses to meet TrineOnline quality standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of online delivery by sharing and implementing ideas and techniques.
Education and/or Experience
Required: Bachelor's degree required and five (5) years of combined work experience in instructional design, online education, mentoring faculty, content development, and multimedia production.
Preferred: Experience using Moodle or other Learning Management Systems (LMS) and knowledge of instructional technologies. Certification in Quality Matters or other online certification of quality control in distance delivery of educational content.
