Summary

The Department of Chemical and Forensic Sciences at Trine University invites applications for a full-time chemistry laboratory instructor beginning August 2025. This position requires teaching in-person labs on the Trine University main campus in Angola, Indiana.

Duties and Responsibilities

The position consists of teaching 100-level chemistry lab courses for majors and non-majors. The instructor will be responsible for the following:

  • Delivering lab instruction (an average of 18 contact hours per semester)
  • Coordinating with lecture course instructors
  • Maintaining the laboratory learning management system page
  • Grading assignments and assigning lab grades
  • Holding office hours
  • Setting up and tearing down for each lab
  • Assisting in the development of the chemistry lab curriculum
  • Ensuring adherence to all safety protocols

Additionally, the instructor may be assigned other duties by the Department Chair, School Dean, or Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science field required; master’s degree in chemistry preferred
  • Teaching experience is preferred
  • A demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education

Salary

Rank and salary will be based on qualifications.
