Dubois, Stutzman join Trine board

Two new members were elected to the Trine University Board of Trustees during its meeting on Oct. 5.

StutzmanMarlin Stutzman is a former member of the Indiana House of Representatives and Indiana State Senate, and represented Indiana’s 3rd Congressional District as a U.S. Congressman from 2010-2017. He is currently active in several ventures, including serving as: managing partner of Osmium Holdings, a private equity and management firm in Howe; CEO and partner of Stutzman Power Equipment in Shipshewana; chairman of the board for Ava Laurenne in Fredericksburg, Virginia’ and owner of Schonbrook Farm & Inn in Howe.

Stutzman was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash by Govs. Mike Pence and Mitch Daniels, and the Small Business Champion Award by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. He attended Tri-State University, now Trine, taking coursework in business and accounting.

DuboisWilliam Dubois is senior principal engineer for Patriot Engineering and Environmental, Inc., which he founded in 1995 and served as president for 18 years. Certified as a Professional Engineer in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Florida and Texas, Dubois has 50 years of experience in geotechnical, materials engineering and environmental consulting.

Dubois earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Tri-State University in 1966 and a Master of Science in civil engineering from Michigan State University in 1968. He is a past member of Trine’s Industrial Advisory Board.

Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine University president. “We look forward to adding the expertise of the board’s newest members will bring as Trine University continues to develop its academic programs, beautifully transform its campus and impact the lives of its students.”

“I am particularly proud to welcome two fellow alumni to the Trine University board,” said Dr. Rick L. James, chair of the Trine University Board of Trustees. “Their knowledge, experiences and insight will add to the diversity of skills and resources we already have on the board as we plot the course for continued growth and excellence at Trine University through the 21st century.”

The board also voted to confer trustee emeritus status to Clifford Ryan, who had served on the board since 2009.
