Trine podcast features Indy sports marketing pro

LopezA marketing professional for the professional soccer team in Indianapolis talks about her career path and work on the newest episode of Trine University’s Center for Sports Studies podcast.

Rachel Lopez is coordinator of game activations and marketing for the Indy Eleven, a USL Championship team. The team began play in 2014.

Lopez previously worked in ticket sales for the Fort Wayne TinCaps, Indianapolis Indians, and Indy Fuel before transferring into her current role, where she fulfills partnership contracts and creates “memories” for Indy Eleven fans.

In the podcast, she explains how part-time jobs in sports helped her to get her break, the importance of keeping the fan first, and the value in learning sales skills and the revenue development side of sports business, even for non-sales roles.

CE senior trip covers cement plant, lock, bridge project

Nine Trine University seniors from the Reiners Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, accompanied by three department faculty, took part in a senior trip to southern Indiana that included visits to a cement plant, a lock on the Ohio River and a project connecting Interstate 69 with a future bridge into Kentucky.
