FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Trine University will welcome Nick Jordan, who has served as Allen
County auditor since 2017, as its new director of Brooks College of Health Professions
(BCHP) operations and finance beginning next month.
Jordan’s position will be an extension of the university’s Business Office that will assist with all operational and financial aspects of the school. He also will assist with strategic planning and support effective resource management and operations.
“I hope to be able to provide value in any way possible,” Jordan said. “I am excited to join Team Trine, Dean Lisa Clemens and the rest of the BCHP professors and staff in growing the Brooks College of Health Professions. I am optimistic my experience in accounting and finance will help create efficiencies to keep the costs of a BCHP degree as low as possible, furthering the value for students.”
“BCHP is in a prime position for continued success with a growing population in Allen County and Northeast Indiana in general, almost double-digit demand for many health professions, and partnerships with local healthcare providers. Coupled with the new state-of-the-art facility and sizeable property, it is not far-fetched to think that BCHP will become THE Northeast Indiana leader in health professions education.”
“Nick is a well-respected professional who has had a distinguished tenure in multiple roles including Allen County auditor, and we’re excited to welcome him to the family at Trine University,” said Kayla Warren, senior vice president and chief finance officer for Trine University. “With the qualifications, experience and community connections Nick brings to this position, I know the Brooks College of Health Professions will continue to flourish as it meets the needs of area healthcare providers and Trine University students.”
14-year history
Jordan has been part of the Allen County Auditor Office since 2011, first serving as chief deputy auditor then as auditor.
He was elected to the position in 2017 by caucus, then re-elected in 2018 and 2022.
As county auditor, he oversaw all receipts and disbursements, as well as payroll. He also prepared annual budget process and financial statements for Allen County, maintained property tax records and provide property tax analyses for internal and external inquiries.
Prior to working for Allen County, Jordan served as a staff accountant for BKD, LLP, in Fort Wayne. He also previously worked as a supervisor at Heller Homes, also in Fort Wayne.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in business and a post-baccalaureate accounting certificate from Indiana University in Fort Wayne. He has been licensed as a certified public accountant since 2011.
