Trine wind ensemble to perform ‘Music from the Silver Screen’

The Trine University Wind Ensemble will bring “Music from the Silver Screen” to the Ryan Concert Hall in the T. Furth Center for the Performing Arts, beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The wind ensemble, under the direction of Brad Jopek, DMA, head of Trine’s Department of Music, will perform the following works:

  • “Thunder (NASCAR Theme)” by David Robidoux, arranged by John Moss.
  • “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot,” arranged by Steve Rouse.
  • “Pirates of the Caribbean (Symphonic Suite)” by Klaus Badelt, arranged by John Wasson.
  • “Bandology” by Eric Osterling.
  • “How to Train Your Dragon (Music from the Motion Picture)” by John Powell, arranged by Sean O’Loughlin.
  • “Mancini!” by Henry Mancini, arranged by Stephen Bulla.
  • “Cartoon Carnival,” arranged by Jack Bullock.

Wind ensemble members are as follows:

Flute/Piccolo: Donna Henson-Bohlen, a design engineering technology major from Sturgis, Michigan; and Olivia Geringer-Spagnola, an exercise science major from Beecher, Illinois.

Oboe: Ellie Essenberg, an exercise science major from Middleville, Michigan.

Clarinet: Emily Howard, a biology major from Wolcottville, Indiana; Hannah Knost, a biomedical engineering major from Anderson, Indiana; Andrea Mendoza, a biomedical engineering major from LaGrange, Indiana; Haylee Smith, a chemical engineering major from Wauseon, Ohio, and Emma Wilke, an elementary education major from Mandeville, Louisiana.

Alto saxophone: Michael Blessing, a mechanical engineering major from Delta, Ohio; Dean Campbell, a chemical engineering major from Batesville, Indiana; Erika Foor, a forensic science major from Lowell, Indiana; Brody Fox, a civil engineering major from Rushville, Indiana; and Ashley Salas, a mechatronics and robotics engineering major from Goshen, Indiana.

Tenor saxophone: Dean Campbell, a chemical engineering major from Batesville, Indiana.

Baritone saxophone: Danita Hillman, a chemical engineering major from Fort Washington, Maryland.

Trumpet: Ryan Hoak, a civil engineering major from Warsaw, Indiana; Treyton Sederstrom, an actuarial science major from Cedar Lake, Indiana; and George Stanley, a mechanical engineering major from North Vernon, Indiana.

Horn: Eryn Pikus, a mechanical engineering major from Carmel, Indiana; and Jessica Jopek.

Trombone: Evan Cole, a mechanical engineering major from Adrian, Michigan; Caleb Henson-Bohlen, a mechanical engineering major from Sturgis, Michigan; Garrett Mangold, a chemical engineering major from Buchanan, Michigan; Shannon Ridley, a mechanical engineering major from Warsaw, Indiana; John Rubley, an extended reality major from Reading, Michigan; and Ryan Sederstrom, an electrical engineering major from Cedar Lake, Indiana.

Euphonium: Ryan Sederstrom, an electrical engineering major from Cedar Lake, Indiana.

Tuba: Caden Daffron, a computer engineering major from Granger, Indiana; Evan Holman, a civil engineering major from Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Luke Weintz, a civil engineering major from Fairfield, Ohio.
