Trine University will host its second annual Storm Into Summer, a conference for K-12
educators, on Tuesday, June 2.
Session proposals are being accepted now through March 2.
“Last year’s event was a huge success, with hundreds of area teachers connecting and
learning from each other as well as from Trine’s education faculty,” said Amy Heavin,
Ph.D., assistant dean for academics at Trine. “We are once again looking for educators
to share their talent and ideas with others, and we’re excited to see Storm Into Summer
continue to grow and develop.”
Networking and learning
The conference will be held at Trine University’s Angola campus. There will be a $25
cost for registration.
Storm Into Summer will offer educators the opportunity to network, collaborate and
learn from each others’ successes. The day will include sessions presented by educators
highlighting classroom wins, new and innovative strategies, and tips for recharging.
Vendors with products from trusted educational resources also will be present.
The conference is currently accepting session proposals from teachers and administrators
with all levels of experience.
Sessions can be either 15-minute mini-lessons or 45-minute breakout sessions and can
be presented by individuals or teams. Topics can include new ideas or successful practices.
Those whose proposals are accepted will be informed by the end of March. There will
be no registration charge for those who present.
