Dr. Hundal is a dedicated researcher and educator in IT systems holding a Ph.D. in Computer Information Technology from Purdue University and a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Socio-Technical Systems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He possesses ten years of teaching, mentoring and six years of industry research experience working as a lecturer, IT market researcher and Postdoctoral research associate. He has worked with high-profile IT companies AWS, Cisco, RedHat and government research enterprise MxD (US Department of Defense) to improve digital products and foster digital transformation initiatives. He believes in leveraging user-centered, lean innovation and a systems thinking mindset for problem solving and delivering solutions. His teaching and research interests are in Innovations in IT, Cloud Computing systems, IoT systems design for lean-sustainable systems, Network Management for AI/ML, Quantitative & Qualitative Research design for IT research. Dr. Hundal has taught and mentored students at institutions including Trine University, Purdue University, and MIT, with a teaching philosophy grounded in formative assessment and experiential learning that fosters student-centered, growthoriented outcomes.. He is certified in teaching and awarded with Kaufmann Teaching Certification Program (KTCP) from MIT Teaching and Learning lab. He is a published author with eight peer-reviewed publications as first author and one book published as co-author titled “Lean-Sustainability- A Pathway to Circular Economy” which is recently been awarded with two best book awards from the International Academy of Quality (IAQ) and the International Lean Six Sigma Institute (ILSS).
In his spare time, he likes to spend time outdoors doing hiking and biking
