Residential Life Standards and Guidelines
Living on campus provides valuable social and educational experiences that foster independence and prepare students for their future careers. A key part of this experience is learning to live with others in a diverse community.
A successful residential experience is built on mutual respect and shared community standards. Every student has the right to an environment that supports academic success and personal growth, a reasonable degree of privacy and a sense of belonging.
With these rights come responsibilities, to oneself, roommates, neighbors and the broader university community. Roommates are encouraged to communicate openly about expectations related to cleanliness, shared belongings and guests. Each room or suite completes a roommate agreement with their RA at the start of the academic year. This agreement can be revisited and revised at the request of the roommates.
Students are accountable for their behavior in the residence halls and are expected to follow all university and housing policies outlines in the student handbook.
