Exciting Announcement: Trine University’s New Residence Hall

Trine University is thrilled to introduce our newest residence hall, set to open in the fall of the 2025-2026 academic year! Located at the corner of Summit Street and Thunder Drive, this state-of-the-art facility is designed to redefine on-campus living with comfort, convenience, and community in mind.

Innovative Suite-Style Living

The new hall will house 197 students in thoughtfully designed suite-style accommodations. Each suite features two 2-person bedrooms connected by a shared bathroom, which includes a private shower, a private toilet area, and a dual sink vanity. This layout offers the perfect blend of privacy and shared living for an exceptional student experience.

Community-Centered Amenities

To foster community and support student success, the residence hall will include incredible shared spaces:

First-Floor Lounge & Social/Study Hub: Accessible to all Trine Residents, this large space features:
A TV viewing lounge for relaxing with friends.
A kitchenette for snacks or light meals.
Tall-top tables for eating, studying, or socializing.
Huddle rooms for small group study sessions.
A smaller social gathering space perfect for casual conversations.
A connected fitness center with treadmills, stationary bikes, a multi-exercise weight training machine, and a pool table for both recreation and wellness.
Second and Third Floors: Smaller lounges with TV viewing areas offer additional opportunities for relaxation and connection among residents.

Important Housing Selection Information

Group Selection: When choosing Summit Street, students are indicating both their preference for this hall and their chosen roommate. Final placements into specific rooms/suites will be determined by the Housing Department.
Suite Arrangements: All suites will be designated as all-male or all-female, with each group of two students sharing bathroom facilities with another group of two.
Suitemate Requests: If a group of two students have two additional friends assigned to Summit Street, these students may request to share a suite once the building reaches capacity. The Housing Department will do its best to accommodate the suitemate request.
Final Assignments: Suitemate details and room placements will be shared after the housing selection process is complete.
