Trine University Hosts Indiana Supreme Court
by Caitlin Mann
On Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 10 a.m. (Eastern), Trine University hosted The Indiana Supreme Court in The Furth Center.
The Court held an oral argument in WEOC, Inc., et al. v. Niebauer (22A-CT-1869), pertaining to a civil case regarding the responsibility of businesses when people who were served alcohol at their establishment later injure someone else. This was the 50th time the Court has held an argument on the road since 1994.
The event was free and open to the public. The entire Criminal Justice Department of Trine University attended the event, in addition to students from the nearby high schools. Overall, nearly 500 students were present. The hearing lasted an hour and a half, including a question-and-answer session at the end of the case. The argument was also webcast live and archived on the Court’s website.
