Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The position of Assistant/Associate Professor is a core member of the program faculty.  Under the direction of the MPAS Program Director, he/ she will be responsible for contributing to the design, planning, and assessment of the curriculum; teaching, advising and mentoring students; and engaging in scholarship and service activities.

  • Develop, implement and assess curriculum, including creation of syllabus
  • Assess student competence and performance (including taking attendance and providing formal student evaluations)
  • Advise and mentor students by providing academic counseling
  • Attend faculty meetings and participate in faculty committees including program strategic plan and accreditation
  • Contribute to the Trine University’s greater community with scholarship and service with activities leading to professional growth and development, which may include publications, presentations, participation in conferences and seminars

Education and/or Experience

  • Must be a physician assistant, with doctorate/PhD degree preferred, and possess a current NCCPA certification and eligibility for licensure in Indiana with a minimum of two years clinical experience
  • OR, be a Certified Nurse Practitioner with experience in graduate level teaching and a minimum of two years clinical experience
  • OR, be a physician with current eligibility or unrestricted license as an allopathic or osteopathic physician in Indiana, certified by an ABMS or AOA approved specialty board minimum of two years clinical experience
  • OR, be a PhD basic scientist or hold other academic/doctoral qualifications and relevant academic/clinical experience and fit into the mix of the other professionals of the developing program

Salary

The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
