Summary

The Assistant Director of Dual Enrollment & Transfer Admissions

S/he will assist in developing the program’s strategic plan. This person also works with high school administrators, teachers, and students to implement the program’s strategic plans, as well as administrative tasks, such as managing the Senior Dual Enrollment/Transfer Counselor and Dual Enrollment/Transfer Coordinator.  The Associate Director of Dual Enrollment position requires an individual who can provide academic and professional expertise within the dual credit programs offered to high school students, such as on-campus enrollment, the dual enrollment program, and online enrollment.  This person will take the lead on approving new dual enrollment intructors. S/he must be able to work within the community and beyond to develop partnerships for the growth of the Dual Enrollment Program, and be willing to travel extensively within the various regions of the state.  The Associate Director of Dual Enrollment must have a broad understanding of appropriate academic programs and potential future directions; be flexible, visionary, creative and energetic and, possess a demonstrated capacity to lead.

 Essential Dual Enrollment Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise multiple staff members (from main campus and high schools).
  • Manage all policies and procedures for dual credit in accordance with state, university, school, and accreditation guidelines.
  • Develop and market programs to high school administrators.
  • Develop and market programs and partnerships with home-schooling networks.
  • Collaborates with our partnering high schools pursuing growth within the school and maintaining a positive relationship.  Tasks to include: adding courses, evaluating past registration days, trying to find ways to make things more efficient, and providing quality customer service to our students, parents, principals, and guidance counselors.
  • Identifies key areas for professional development content and coordinates professional development days for both spring and summer.
  • Prepares, reviews, and submits reports as necessary.
  • Collaborates with main campus subject area experts to review global partnership faculty course content to ensure course objectives are being met. Makes recommendations and changes as necessary.
  • Responsible for re-evaluations for current students who change their major.
  • Annually review program control sheets for accuracy.
  • Manages the hiring of new dual enrollment instructors by reviewing applications/resumes/credentials.
  • Responsible for conducting One Year-Out Survey and evaluate those surveys when they are returned.
  • Responsible for DE budget expenses/approves Coordinator expense reports.
  • Collaborate with textbook publishing companies and high schools to facilitate transitions during textbook adoption cycles.
  • Professional development - stays current in the dual enrollment recruiting and admissions field by reading publications, attending conferences, and participating in professional organizations and networks associated with dual enrollment. 
  • Evaluates high school transcript for student dual enrollment program approval.
  • Works closely with the Registrar to get students registered.  
  • Conduct observations in dual enrollment classrooms to determine course rigor, classroom preparation, and student engagement.  
  • Responsible for resolving student and instructor issues.
  • Assist the Executive Director of Academic Outreach & Transfer Admission in preparing documents for NACEP and the state of Indiana accreditation processes
  • Prepare unofficial transfer credit evaluations for prospective transfer students for advising purposes
  • Provide oversight to staff members to track stages and ensure transfer credit evaluations performed in a timely manner.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Registration and Recruitment:

  • Assign target schools for recruitment and scheduling registration days.
  • Travel to partnering schools and assist students with registration.
  • Responsible for ensuring all Student Agreement Forms, transcripts, and registration forms from students and high schools are received and processed.
  • Provide ongoing customer service for students, parents, and partnering schools.
  • Travel to partnering schools to present honor cords at high school honor programs
  • Meet with prospective transfer students and their families.
  • Assist Admission Counselors with visits/questions from families regarding dual credit and transferability of courses.
  • Territory management and travel to community colleges, transfer fairs, and related recruitment programs for assigned geographic area.
  • Responsible for creating an annual marketing plan for dual enrollment and assist with transfer recruitment marketing plans.
  • Responsible for maintaining communication with prospective transfer students.
  • Admission liaison with program advisors and faculty.
  • Conduct appropriate research on territory to establish/support goals and objectives.
  • Support recruitment effort of the Office of Admission with open houses, SOAR and Saturday office coverage.
  • Review transfer applications and make recommendation on admission decision.
  • Provide initial academic advising to help transfer & dual enrollment students understand degree requirements
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Indiana Core Transfer Library.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Student/Course Advising:

  • Evaluate dual credit, AP exams & college transcripts for an assigned territory for transfer credit.
  • Advises Campus Experience students for both dual enrollment, main campus and online students. Focusing on intended major after graduation.
  • Schedules course offerings at select high schools.
  • Manages Slate to process and maintain student applications/accounts.
  • Provides class rosters to dual enrollment instructors and guidance counselors.
  • Maintain files of all registered students.
  • The associate director for transfer and dual enrollment, will be responsible for updating this Moodle course every summer, replacing the current version in the faculty handbook.
  • All other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree required.  Preference will be given candidates who have attended an independent, accredited college or university.
