Summary
Trine University invites applications for the position of Dean for the Franks School of Education. The 12-month position requires an individual who can effectively serve as the academic and administrative leader of the School. Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the School Dean must possess the vision and energy to support faculty in achieving excellence in Trine University’s commitment to student-centered teaching, program innovation, career-focused curriculum, student support and engagement, and relevant research. The Dean should present evidence of experience in leadership, effective problem-solving, positive interpersonal skills, and the ability to build collegiality, trust, and consensus among faculty, staff , students, alumni, and school partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
In addition, the School Dean must provide the following duties and responsibilities:
- Supervise all School programs, including all appropriate faculty and staff
- Assess School needs and coordinate the development of instructional programs and assessment
- Recruit and retain students in coordination with University Admissions and School faculty
- Provide IDOE and CAEP-specific guidance and support for successful accreditation outcomes
- Model positive culture and apply to problem solving with faculty, students, and University personnel
- Develop and strengthen strategic relationships with K-12 and industry stakeholders
- Oversee grant proposals and administer grant funds in coordination with University Advancement
- Prepare and manage School budgets and course scheduling
- Teach three credit hours per semester and serve as an academic advisor for School students
The School Dean will also be responsible and accountable for additional duties and assignments as prescribed by the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Qualifications/Required Education
It is recommended that the School Dean have at least three years of teaching experience, three years of administrative experience, and hold a terminal degree in an education field.

Rank and salary will be based on qualifications.
