STEM with Storm
Here at Trine University, Innovation One and Education One have teamed up to bring back STEM with Storm — virtually! We have partnered to bring our campus mascot, Storm, into elementary classrooms to share his love of science and math with students near and far!
Storm is in each video, alongside many Trine students and professors, to share exciting STEM demonstrations in a five-part unit centered on various types of engineers. In these quick videos, STEM with Storm explores what an engineer is and work each type of engineer does, while demonstrating fun experiments to get young brains thinking and spark the imagination of future engineers!
STEM with Storm will be shared with educators electronically. Our goal is provide support to our educators who are taking on so much responsibility by providing this STEM with Storm Unit with no additional preparation needed, besides maybe copying.
Each video supports teachers with lessons aligned directly to Indiana Academic Standards and can easily be added into your science course. The units also include a follow-up activity for students to complete in the classroom and another follow-up activity to extend learning. Videos can be used over one week or here or there as needed. This program is a continuous three-year rotation, outlined below.
