Experiential Learning Track at Trine University
At Trine University, we recognize the importance of practical experience in shaping the future success of our students. That's why we offer an Experiential Learning Track tailored for our international students, allowing them to integrate real-world work experiences into their academic journey. Here's everything you need to know about this unique program.
Program Overview:
The Experiential Learning Track is designed for F1 International Students enrolled in eligible programs at Trine University. Participating students have the opportunity to engage in internship experiences that are authorized for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) as an integral part of their program of study. This opportunity is only available to students pursuing a Master's or Doctorate degree. Students pursuing an undergraduate degree must wait a minimum of one full academic year before requesting CPT authorization.
Key Features:
- Early Participation: Students enrolled in the Experiential Learning Track can start their internship experiences as early as their program start date, in accordance with 8 CFR 214.2(f)(10)(i).
- Automatic Enrollment: Once approved for CPT, students are automatically enrolled in the Experiential Learning Track.
- Flexibility: Students may decide to join the Experiential Learning track at any point during their studies.
- Eligible Programs: Students must be enrolled in one of the following eligible programs to qualify for the Experiential Learning Track:
Requirements:
- Graduate Internship Course: Students must be registered for and pass the Graduate Internship course each semester they are authorized for CPT.
- Education Agreement: Students must have a signed Education Agreement with their employer, which can be found in the CPT application.
- Academic Performance: A minimum average cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required to remain in good standing within the Experiential Learning Track.
